Niger SUBEB Threatens Contractors Over Shady Project Execution for 2020/21

Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) has warned contractors handling its projects across the state to desist from substandard work or face revocation as they moves to site for the 2020/21 intervention projects in the state.

The NSUBEB Chairman, Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim handed down the warning during the board routine interface with the contractors to mark the completion of procurement process, charging them to abide by the contract agreement of ensuring standard and quality projects.

He emphasized on the strictly adherence to the specifications and guidelines so as to get value for money and ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the benefit of Niger state.

Saidu Ibrahim stated that 100% of contractors funds are ready just as the bill of quantity has done justice and fairness to the contractors, adding that their payment will be through electrical urging them not to lobby anybody to facilitate their payment.

The board chairman revealed that no fewer than 157 contracts to be executed in the 25 local government areas of the state which include, new projects, renovation and four number model science primary schools in Suleja, Lapai, New Bussa and Beri in Mariga local council among others.

He commended governor Abubakar Sani Bello for his genuine commitment for creating enabling environment to give children in the state better and quality basic education as well payment of N2.1 billion counterpart fund with matching ground from Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) totalling N4.2 billion for 2020/21.

Speaking on behalf of the contractors, Yakubu Abdullahi Mohammed assured to abide by the SUBEB specifications and guidelines to the benefit of Niger state
