Kano Police Roll Out Activities for National Police Day 2026

The Kano State Police Command has announced a lineup of activities to mark the 2026 National Police Day celebration, with a focus on strengthening collaboration between the police and the public.

Addressing journalists on Friday, the Commissioner of Police said this year’s theme, “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” highlights the need for closer cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the state.

He explained that the programme, in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, will commence on Monday, March 30, with a sanitation exercise in Fagge Local Government Area, alongside community engagement and a medical outreach at Dakata.

According to the Command, activities scheduled for Tuesday include a walkathon along Abdullahi Wase Road, a live radio programme at Dala FM Kano, and a visit to the Federal High Court in the state.

CP Bakori noted that Wednesday’s events will feature an interactive session with students and staff of North-West University Kano, as well as a football match at Sani Abacha Stadium.

On Thursday, the Command will hold a roundtable discussion with civil society organisations and community liaison groups, in addition to visits to major motor parks and markets across Kano State.

The police noted that the activities will involve key stakeholders, including the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), and other civil society groups, with similar programmes expected to take place across all divisions and area commands.

The grand finale of the celebration is scheduled for April 7 at the Eagle Square in Abuja, where the Inspector-General of Police will lead dignitaries and stakeholders in commemorating the day.

The Command reiterated its commitment to building trust and enhancing public safety, while calling on residents, community leaders and other stakeholders to actively participate in the events.
