Kano State Commissioner of Water Resources, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), resigning from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
He registered his membership on January 30, 2026, at his polling unit in Ragaada Ward, Doguwa Local Government Area.
Hon. Doguwa was accompanied by prominent APC stakeholders, including Hon. Alasan Ado Doguwa, Member, House of Representatives; Hon. Abdulrashid Rilean, Executive Chairman, Doguwa LGA; and Engr. Ado Ibrahim Doguwa, Managing Director, KHEDCO.
Other officials who joined the APC include former Speaker, Doguwa LGA, Hon. Alasan Oko.
The move is seen as a significant step towards unity and progress in Doguwa LGA.
