Kano State Commissioner for Education Praises COPCLIS for Enhancing Islamic Education

The Kano State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, has commended the Conference of Provosts of Colleges of Legal and Islamic Studies in Nigeria (COPCLIS) for their dedication to enhancing Islamic and legal education in the country. Dr. Makoda made this commendation while speaking at the 48th Regular Meeting of COPCLIS, hosted by Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kano.
Represented by the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics of the Ministry, Yusha’u Hamza, Dr. Makoda emphasized the vital role COPCLIS plays in building institutions of knowledge that elevate educational standards across Nigeria. He noted that the conference has significantly contributed to strengthening Islamic and legal education, fostering a culture of discipline and knowledge.
Dr. Makoda appreciated the efforts of COPCLIS in improving Islamic and legal education in Nigeria, attributing the award he received to the collective efforts of the Kano State Ministry of Education under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. He expressed gratitude to COPCLIS and the management of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies for the honor.
The Commissioner assured that the Kano State Government would remain committed to partnering with COPCLIS and other stakeholders to advance education. Other awardees include Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, and Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovations, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata.
This commendation reflects the Kano State Government’s commitment to education reform and its pursuit of partnerships to enhance the sector.
