Aliyu Inspects IDPs Housing Project in Illela LGA

Gov.Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has inspected the ongoing construction of 100 housing units for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Illela Local Government Area.
The project is jointly funded by the Sokoto State Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and commended the contractor for adhering to standards and timelines.
He urged other contractors to emulate this level of commitment and professionalism.
Governor Aliyu reassured IDPs of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and reintegration, emphasizing the protection of their dignity.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to mitigate flooding, a major cause of displacement, and protect government investments and infrastructure.
The Governor also emphasized the government’s resolve to strengthen security, particularly in rural communities, and called on citizens to support efforts to build a safer and more resilient Sokoto.
The Governor was accompanied on the visit by prominent officials, including Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Speaker Tukur Bala Bodinga, and other government officials.
