The President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Dr. Nasiru Gawuna, has commended the Super Eagles for their outstanding performance against Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Kigali.
Nigeria secured a 2-0 victory over Rwanda.
Dr. Gawuna praised the team’s spirit and urged them to maintain their winning streak.
He emphasized that sports are a unifying factor in Nigeria and expressed YSFON’s commitment to making sports a central attraction.
The organization aims to engage youths in various sporting activities, harnessing Nigeria’s enormous talents ¹.
Dr. Gawuna also called on governments at all levels to prioritize sports development, recognizing its potential to benefit the nation.
His sentiments were echoed by Johnson Akinsehinwa, Chairman of YSFON’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter.
