Kano Govt.Receives Draft White Paper on Commission of Inquiry Report

The Kano State Government has formally received a draft white paper containing its stance on the commission of inquiry report.

This is contained in a statement issued by Assistant Chief Information Officer, Office of SSG’S Musa Tanko in Kano on Wednesday. 

This report investigates the incidents of breach of peace, destruction of properties, looting, arson, and killings that occurred during the End Bad Governance protests in August 2024.

Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim, received the documents and highlighted the importance of the commission’s recommendations. 

The commission, led by Honorable Justice Lawan Wada Mahmud (rtd), conducted a thorough investigation and presented a comprehensive report to the government.

A white paper drafting committee, chaired by Alhaji Dan’asabe Yahaya, was established to review the report. 

The committee has completed its task, and the draft white paper is now being presented to the government.

Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim assured that the government will critically review the recommendations and take necessary actions to ensure peace in the state. 

He expressed appreciation to the committee for their tireless work in producing the comprehensive document within a short period.

The chairman of the committee, Alhaji Dan’asabe Yahaya, thanked the SSG and Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the trust placed in them to carry out the task.
