Kano, Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved several key appointments and reassignments aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing public service delivery in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa in Kano on Tuesday.
The appointments, according to him, include Jamila Magaji-Abdullahi as the new Accountant General of the state.
Dawakin-Tofa said, “Muhammad Yahaya Liman has been appointed as Director of Treasury.
“Akibu Isa Murtala was promoted to Special Adviser on Administration in the Governor’s Office, tasked with coordinating administrative functions.
” Abubakar Sadiq,redeployed as Deputy Managing Director of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), focusing on improving rural water supply and sanitation.
“Additionally, Yusuf has established a strategic committee to revive the Kano State Transport Authority (Kano Line), chaired by Sa’idu Abdullahi-Shu’aibu.”
He said that the committee would oversee the review and management of Kano line’s operations over the next six months.
The committee’s members include: Bello Abdul from the Ministry of Public Procurement, Abdullahi Tukur, Ministry of Works and Housing and Badamasi Suleiman.
Also, Kabiru Habibu Kyauta, ftom Special Duties will serve as its Secretary.
Dawakin-Tofa quoted Yusuf as charging the new appointees to work tirelessly, emphasising innovation, dedication, and accountability in their new roles.
He added, “These appointments and initiatives demonstrate the administration’s commitment to fostering development, enhancing public service, and positioning Kano State as a model of effective governance.”
