Kano, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano Stste on Wednesday reached out to support Jigawa State after a devastating fire incident in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area, claiming over 100 lives and injuring more than 70 people.
Yusuf described the tragedy as heart-wrenching, not just for Jigawa State but for the entire nation.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesman Bature Dawakin Tofa in Kano.
“We received the news with deep shock, and on behalf of the Government and people of Kano State, I extend our deepest sympathies to Governor Umar Namadi, the Government and people of Jigawa State, especially to the families of the deceased and the community of Majia.”
Yusuf also prayed for the victims, “May Allah SWT grant eternal peace to the souls of the departed, speedy recovery to those injured, and may we never witness such a catastrophe again..
