Kano govt partners Tony Blair Institute to attract $23.5M investment in energy sector

Kano, The Kano  State Government is teaming up with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change to bring in $23.5 million in investments and create wealth in the energy sector. 

The Governor’s Initiative to Energize the Economy of Kano State (GEEKS) programme aims to reform energy supply and boost industrialization.

This is contained in a statement issued by his spoke man, Bature Dawalin Toda on Friday .

Yusuf praised the team for their well-articulated blueprint. 

” The programme focuses on strategic planning for state electricity market development, universal access to electricity for commercial and industrial activities and electrification pathways for sustainable energy.

” Others transitioning transportation to electric-powered vehicles and 

productive use of renewable energy in agriculture and health sectors.

The partnership expects to attract millions of dollars, create over 1 million jobs within 3 years, and increase agricultural production by 35%.
