Governor Yusuf Expresses Shock at Drug Dealers’ Audacity in Seeking Court Protection

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has expressed disbelief at the boldness of drug dealers who have sought court orders to release confiscated illegal drugs.
Yusuf spoke during a visit to the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) on Sunday .
He was briefed on the situation and was astonished that individuals engaged in the illicit drug trade had obtained court orders to release their seized contraband.
Governor Yusuf questioned the judges who sanctioned such orders, emphasizing the severity of the issue.
In response, he directed the state Attorney General to develop a strategy to prevent drug traffickers from exploiting legal loopholes in the future.
He stressed the need for collaboration between the judiciary and the government to protect the state from the dangers of drug trafficking.
The governor commended KAROTA’s efforts in apprehending illicit drugs and urged the agency to take necessary actions to eliminate the confiscated substances.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating drug smuggling and pledged support to agencies fighting drug trafficking and abuse.
Governor Yusuf’s stance highlights the seriousness of the drug trafficking problem and the need for unified efforts to protect the state from the menace of illicit substances.
